High Wind Advisory
330 PM PST Thu Feb 7 2002

...High Wind Warning until 9 PM...
wind gusts over 80 mph...locally to 100 mph...will be likely over
higher peaks and ridges in northeast California and the northern
Sierra this evening. Gusts over 60 mph are likely at lower
elevations...especially in northeast California and in extreme
western Nevada to the lee of the Sierra. Some of the strongest lower
elevation winds are expected in Surprise Valley...Sierra Valley...
eastern Lassen County...and the U.S. Highway 395 corridor between
Susanville California and Minden Nevada.

Secure property that could be damaged by winds. Travel is dangerous
in high winds...especially for high profile vehicles.  If you will
be traveling in northeast California...western Nevada...or the Lake
Tahoe area this evening...reduce your speed and be ready for sudden
gusts and blowing dust.
