If you get a generic lack-of-response like this, email or call again.
Obviously the whole system by which they respond to constituents is
completely automated, and each email/snailmail/phonecall/visit is counted as
a certain number of people who are interested (snailmails, phonecalls, and
visits are ranked in increasing order).
If you contact a second time about the same issue, it shows you actually
care about this. Your 'number of people' count goes up, and your second
reply is more likely to be read by a human...
Another suggestion- if the Club wants to do something with this, write a
letter on behalf of the club, and have each club member sign/address/date
it. Then kick in a few bucks for it to be courier'd to the appropriate
congresscritter's office.
