Drilling a hole wrecks a collectible radio doesn't it? Not all have the
center screw in the bottom rear. Pulling enough to pull the ground cable
will also pull enough to disconnect others.

Drilling a hole is certainly safer, but damaging. I recall the hole a
new lab tech at Collins drilled for me one day in a freshly alodined and
silk screened panel. He had only one drill bit about 1/4 inch and it had
never been properly sharpened after being used to drill concrete. The
huge burr it left (where I needed a hole for a #4 screw) he attacked
with 36 grit sandpaper. I picture the safety conscious ham doing no
better. I had words with the lab tech supervisor about training and
equipping new lab techs while the project had to wait for an updated
drawing and for the model shop to carve, alodine, and silk screen
another panel. I don't remember seeing that "new" lab tech again.
