Those screen jacks are the least likely to be used for any other purpose
so are quite handy for connecting a ground braid. The use of QUALITY
plugs like those from SWITCHCRAFT is vitally important to handle the
voltage and to make a good ground connection. That is why I have been
emphasizing the use of SWITCHCRAFT plugs. One could pull the center pin
from the grounding plug to reduce the voltage problem but that also
reduces the force required to pull the connector off the jack.
