[Collins] Grounding attachments S-1 line

Use of the screen disconnect jacks is very dangerous!
The screen voltage appears on the center conductor of
both of them if the unit has not been modified for use
with the 62S-1 transverter. If the unit has been
modified, then an external jumper has to be between
these two jacks to enable the final amplifier to
operate unless the 62S-1 is connected.

As a result, I would definitely NOT use one of those
jacks for a ground connection!

If the 312B-4 is not used, or if the push-to-talk
function or phone patch is not used, one of those
jacks would be better.

However, since there is almost 300 volts on the screen
disconnect jacks it is not the safest thing to use one
of them as the ground connection.

So the best ground still is the good Switchcraft phono
plug into a little used jack, such as one of the PA
screen disconnect jacks. Braid to the shield side of
the plug only.
