Cal: only the very later 51s-1units had the BRAKE lever included.. these
cabinets were also of the vintage that had the plastic finger holes in the
top lid.. the very great majority of units never saw the brake lever.. this
also applies to the KWM2-/-2a and it's brake levers. no S-line piece ever
featured the brake lever as a production feature.. the break lever feature
can be retrofitted onto the 51s-1's and KWM-2's but in reality their
ESCUTCHEONS had a small hole drilled and was adapted to properly accept
these levers.. this is usually one sure way to confirm if a set actually had
the brake as a production feature or was ADDED on at a later time..

However, I recently received a piece of Collins 51S-1 propaganda that showed
an early 51S1 sans dial drag. It so happens that I think my 51S-1 is an
early version (#277) and has NO dial drag.
