I have been experiencing the high voltage dropping out on one of the 30S-1's
at the Collins Radio Center. Finally found the problem and wanted to pass
it on.

There is a a two section electroyltic can type capacitor (C211A and C211B)
mounted on the subchassis toward the front right. This capacitor serves to
provide a "boost" to the voltage feeding K101 and K203 the plate current
relay.

If your high voltage drops out or fails to hold in, then, the culprit, in my
case was this two section capacitor. Finding a direct replacement can be
difficult so you may have to wire in a couple of 300 mfd/25 volt caps across
the terminals.

K203 energizes very nicely after changing out this aluminum can
electroylytic.
