The 32S-3 is probably a better CW transmitter than the 32S-1. But I've
had no complaints about my 32S-1 with the four diode balanced modulator
mod (some SB covers that) and a 150 volt zener diode regulating the
screen voltage to the oscillators. I found the zener diode more
effective than a VR tube and regulating the oscillator plate voltages
had no effect. I used it spotting the actual transmit frequency to the
receiver, it works poorly in transceiver mode because the CW signal is
generated by the side tone that has a much higher pitch than we commonly
wish to copy CW at. That's to keep audio harmonics from passing through
the transmit SSB filter.

The new emission switch should be difficult to find. A good parts
distributor should be able to make up the dual pot with switch to order.
Probably you want log taper on both sections of the pot.

When I've used it, with the antivox setting worked out properly, I've
had no complaints about the VOX. I don't think the radio is designed for
full break-in. Some people just had to make modifications because they
thought they had a better idea. I've done that to my 75S3B.
