Some of you may recall my dilemma with a 32V-2 that was losing grid =
drive on the upper end of 10 meters. It worked perfectly on the lower =
bands, however. =20

Well, a very simple fix. It turned out to the 4 pin plug that fits into =
the PTO. When I wiggled the plug the grid current across the entire 10 =
meter band was uniform not just the lower half.

I found the problem by comparing another 32V-2 "test set" using a scope =
rather than an RF probe VTVM on the output of the PTO going to the grid =
of the 6AK6 buffer tube.

Well, I cleaned the pins and applied a light layer of solder to the =
output pin and that cured the problem. If you notice, there are only =
two screws holding this can/plug to the PTO. It does move when you =
wiggle it. =20

So many hours of hunting for a bad capacitor/tube, etc. came down to a =
bad corrosive connection. I hope that this information will help =
someone with a similar problem. NEVER rule out mechanical connections!
