make interface boxes for just such occasions.
If the exciter TX output was a positive 12 volts, I'd use a power MOSFET
as the switch. Something like a IRF-820 will handle a few amps at 800
volts. Put a 10K resistor from gate to source, drive the gate with the
12 volts. Connect the drain to the key input for the 30L-1. It wouldn't
hurt to wire a .01 disk ceramic from gate to source to be sure RF didn't
have any effect.
These links just happened to show up on the TenTec reflector the same
