Jeff,
Depending on the current you are planning to pull thru the connector... you
may want to consider 12 gauge wire... As for the type of conductor...
Stranded wire is generally better for a few reasons. #1 is its flexibility.
It only takes a short time for solid wire to become brittle enough to break
and if flexed at all, will break long before stranded wire. #2 availability.
Unless you go with Romex... stranded wire is much more available in a single
sheath or zip cord arrangement. #3 it will be much easier to attach fusing
devices inline with stranded wire than solid... Solid can be used but a lot
harder to work with. So your choice... but those are three prime reasons I
would go with stranded wire.

What is recommended power cord for the Anderson Power Pole connectors?
I was able to pick up a bag of 30A connectors at the Hamfest on
Saturday. Western Mountain Radio who sells the RigRunner power bar for
power pole connectors sells 10AWG & 12AWG zip cord. Wouldn't solid wire
be a better conductor, or does it matter for shorter lengths? Zip cord
is certainly more user friendly, but don't want to turn the zip cord
into a heating element, either.
