Let me echo the responses you've gotten so far: I have had good success
with 12 AWG red/black zip cord. Very flexible, pretty easy to solder,
etc.

Depending on what kind of current load you'll have, you might want to go
with a 10 AWG main trunk. I'll be using an ICOM 746 for portable work,
and it alone will suck down 20A; not too much left over to power an HT,
TNC, laptop, etc. The 10ga cord should be better able to handle it.

A local source is Gateway Electronics -- there are more than a few
sources over the Internet.

What is recommended power cord for the Anderson Power Pole connectors?
I was able to pick up a bag of 30A connectors at the Hamfest on
Saturday. Western Mountain Radio who sells the RigRunner power bar for
    power pole connectors sells 10AWG & 12AWG zip cord. Wouldn't solid wir=

be a better conductor, or does it matter for shorter lengths? Zip cord
is certainly more user friendly, but don't want to turn the zip cord
    into a heating element, either.
