WOW! For a dead group there's allot of people out there. To many replies to
answer each in person! Thanks to all of you!

Well..... lets see if I can keep the pot stirred up for awhile. My next
project will be the SGC in the attic with the loop, someone else here is
going to do that too. Which ever one of us gets it done first should tell
all. (I know it will work, I did it using a manual tuner) Project #2 - I
thinking of getting one of the "screwdriver" type mobile antennas and
mounting it next to my deck. They are about 10 feet tall. I will encase it
in PVC painted to match the color of my house, place a few 1" extensions off
the top and hang my Humming bird feeders on either side. My deck is about 3
feet off the ground, if I staple rabbit wire under the deck ( a few 4' X 10'
rolls should do) I should end up with a nice ground plane.

My Isotrons work pretty good, not much to them, easy to install. Since I run
low power (20 Watts) snagging that rare DX in a pileup is a once a year
deal, at least on SSB. PSK is a whole different story. If you have not tried
it yet I urge you to do so. I get the most miles for the watt in this mode.
Lots of DX every day.

Has anyone in the group tried a "near ground level" antenna. I've seen one
called a DDR but have not talked to anyone using one.

Lets hear some ideas, even ones that you tried a failed! Someone else might
find a way to make it work!
