Funny you should mention MOSFET preamp. One of the Venus models that I
had, also came equipped with the 6 meter version of that preamp that was
also in the handbook. It worked so well to pull signals out of the noise,
that I built the same one for the Venus I'm still using. I had some
receiver sensitivity problems when I got my first 22'er but discovered
previous owner had diddled with the low pass filter adjustments in the
back which caused a loss of sensitivity.
