[Clegg] New Admin

The "boatanchor" makes and models begin to meld together in the shacks of us
who
could not then because of money and cannot now because of time.  Thanks for
the
nudge on the "real" Clegg stuff Pete. I have two Zeus and an Interceptor and
an
Interceptor B that one day will make one pair to set on a shelf above the
Johnson
Desk KW (#74), Ranger driver and two National HRO50T1s. One of which will be
mated with the Globe King 500B sitting next to the Desk (for 160 meters of
course).
The Clegg Thor 6 does the duty on 6 AM these days while it's big brothers
are waiting
to go on line. Work and life in general keep these dream projects in the
waiting queue but
"one of these days" as the saying goes.
Clegg gear of this vintage is of the top of the top line available in those
years and can
rightly take it's place among the other Big Gun rigs of the day. A Zeus and
an Interceptor
together is just a beautiful thing to behold. Those Eddystone dials ain't
too shabby either!

Let's not forget about those real "manly" Clegg rigs like the Zeus,
Intercepter, Thor, Venus, etc. These rigs really glowed in the dark. A
lot of them are still on the air today. Also, don't forget the
Clegg/Squires Sanders connection. Except for maybe the FM-27A/B, Clegg's
70's FM rigs were typical for that era, and the only time they glowed was
when you accidently reversed the 12 volt connections. I use either my
Clegg Thor or 66'er on 6 meter AM almost any time I'm around and the 6
meter band is open. Occasionally I even fire up the Zeus and Interceptor
when I want to tickle my neighbors.
