We (K7GIE SK) used to cobble up linears using eight RCA 6AG7's with 1KV on the plates. The metal envelopes would get red hot but the tubes seemed to last. This was 48 years ago. Never had a problem with RCA 6AG7's in my 20A's. K7DFW ..._._
