[Boatanchors] More Ranger

For those following this thread and did not see some of the things i
said, here is some more info.

I had been using the transmitter with regularity, no idea why all of a
sudden it would make a big flash and then quit.  However when i turn the
transmitter from off to the Tune position, all the filaments light as
normal but there is a missing sound and action.  When i turn the switch
to Am or Phone and CW the small red lamp on the front panel lights up
but nothing else happens.

In looking around a i found 3 pieces of a resistor, green/brown/silver
which means it it 67 ohms divided by 100.  well i don't have any
resistors like that shown on the parts list. However on the backside of
the back wafer on that switch there is another resistor of identical
value.  There are only two shunts with a value close to that and they
are listed as .51 ohms

It would appear that as these transmitters went along in their
development changes in some values were made bu documentation did not
follow up.  I am wondering that with all the rangers built that are
still around if there isn't someone out there with perhaps a manual
reflecting these changes.

Needless to say if i can't find where this resistor blew up it's gonna
be difficult to fix this rig.  I don't see anything anyplace that has
the remenents of that resistor not even the wire stubs that were
soldered to something.

A challenge indeed.
