Good suggestion.

However, the heterodyne and the oscillator current are not due to the switch being in the ZERO position.  If I move the switch from VFO to ZERO, it turns the buffer on, as evidenced of the buffer meter reading going from zero to upscale, and the heterodyne becomes much stronger in my receiver.
