Back in the 90s, RCA was owned by Thompson which, I think, was a French 
company.

They had a large repair facility in El Paso, TX when I had some work done on 
a RCA TV I owned.  They never manage to fix it, so I replaced it at the 
advice of the technician who worked on it.  He said the board was so thin 
that working on them often ruined the board.

So much for quality.
