Yes - Thompson - TCE France.
I've heard they've since been absorbed into GE (haven't tried to verify
that)and the name licensed out.
That was when the quality REALLY started to go (further) downhill.
The local authorized service center was closed and the fellows who had it
reopened under a new name (their initials) but were not authorized to do
RCA warranty work.
Used to be an RCA plant in Prescott Ontario - just a short drive south of
us here in Ottawa.
And there was an RCA Industrial site here in the West End of Ottawa (closed
IIRC in the 1970's).
I was successful in getting service data and manuals from them (at no cost)
for an ETM50 - a boatanchor if ever there was one.
Four channels, about the size of a bar fridge with a telephone like handset
on the front.
I don't have it now, it was a part of the collection dispersed when I
divorced years ago.
Fewer suppliers of (even generic) parts these days and getting service data
or info on well known brand names from the companies that
currently have/use those names is often futile.
Thankfully there's BAMA.
