Yep all the US based electronics coincidently got gobbled up in mergers for
a while,
and now they are no more.
Philips-Magnavox-Sylvania became NAP (North American Philips)
then recently some broker created PNF. We called it Philips N Funai,
but they never put fourth an official definition. PNF was ripped off from
the getgo
and never had a chance to do squat. I believe Encompass parts now runs them,
which use to be Vance Baldwin electronics, gobbled up the same way. In my
experience and research
it seems Sears is the big clearinghouse creating all these bold new
companies as it creeps into bankrupcy
"some day". Sears and Citibank are the same group of shareholders, so its
the same company more or less.
Citibank also is the bank for Home Depot and probably WallMart and some
other smaller chains.
The banks call all the shots with the help of Wall St. Its really not about
the legend of a mom n pop company
starting something out of their garage anymore and the "you can do it"
spirit of business. These banks have
endless money they create from thin air and operate internationally so they
cannot be held responsible. If by chance
the bank fouls up so bad it cant go on (shareholders disappear) , they
merely close and reopen under another name.
When you look at it, banks have no idea how to run a business, yet they are
calling the shots as if they are a business
themselves. They are an institution, which I guess means its a nut house and
gives them the right to do what they want.
The solutions is the FED/FDIC that just throws trillions out there in fiat
every so often in hopes some of it trickles down
to peoples pockets and they hope people dont get wise to what they are
doing.

Yes...
I've seen many products that were NOT from the companies that "used to be".
A LOT of RCA branded TV's were made by Curtis who had licensed the name.
Still trying to figure why they say to use the NEC codes when programming
universal remote controls.
Not sure about Electrohome...
the TV's were Mitsubishi for a while but I think I read something about
turntables/phonographs being manufactured again by someone who acquired the
rights to the name.
Now if LG would start to use the Zenith name (I hear LG bought Zenith)...
