Several years ago, maybe around 2001, there was a WA1 named Carl who wrote a neat transmitter and receiver article in ER called the “Cakepanion” which was built on cake pan chassis.  He then sold kits for while afterwards.  I did buy his Cakepanion regen receiver.  It was cute, fun to build, and worked pretty good.

The cake pan was an instant chassis.
