[Boatanchors] replacing oil filled capacitor in Viking II ?

Just to clarify, since it is apparent I need all the help I can get.. HI.
Its a can (Sprague) oil filled capacitor and its  8 mfd / 1000 volts, not 100
volts (what at originally said in error). I believe that is the correct
nomenclature.. " a can ".
Cap sort of looks like corned beef/SPAM can, like a bath tub.
