[Boatanchors] [Test-Equipment] Need operating instructions or a manual for the Heath IP-2730 power supply.

Without a load on the ps the ammeter will not register. You must attach a
load to the unit. Turn both voltage and current controls fully CCW. If you
have a low value (10 ohm, 10 watt resistor or similar) connect it across the
output of the power supply. Slowly advance the voltage and current controls
and you should see a voltage reading and a current reading.

This is the 7.5V 10A Shumbacher Heath lab supply with both voltage and
current controls.

The current rheostat broke on the one I have and I replaced it. In a simple
power up test,

the voltage seems to work but the amps needle does not move. I'm wondering
if it has to

have something jumpered in the back or a test load for that to function.

If its a load issue, can anyone suggest a simple load ?

Have found a schematic for the IP-2730 but still have not found the
instruction book.

Thanks,
