[Boatanchors] Fwd: Inrush Current Limiters

Is this in-rush concern pertaining to transmitting or firing up the
filaments? It is a 100 watt rig and probably has a 10 H choke on the
power supply filter for the B+ as a choke input filter. That choke
should be all the B+ supply in-rush limiting you need. Even if EFJ
did like Hallicrafters HT-20 and put the choke on the secondary CT and
a 10 mfd oil cap bypass to ground on the diodes, 10 mfd isn't much C
to cause in-rush probs. I just don't see filaments needing in-rush
limiting.
Fuse: If the only way you can do it is to put a fuse in the hot side
of the power cord, do it. You can get cord insert fuse holders at
hardware stores. I did that with my CR88, partly because I was lazy
and didn't want to drill a hole in the back chassis of the set.
Thermistor in-rush components: They run very hot. Position them in
the clear where they can ventilate. In order for a thermistor to work
it has to start cold. If you power cycle one when it is still hot it
won't do anything.
I really don't think you need anything for a V2.
