One aspect of all of this that hasn't been said as of yet.
This is a VERY important issue! If you are going to poke around in a
tube type radio, whether it is either a receiver or a transmitter,
ALWAYS keep ONE hand in your pocket!
The voltages in use will send you into the next life!
Receivers easily carry voltages of 300+ whether they are AC or DC!
You NEVER want to have the hand that SHOULD be in your pocket to be
touching something that is grounded, or is another part of the radio
being worked on.
These older radios do NOT normally come with a colorful DANGER - High
Voltage sign.
This is definitely an issue you NEED to know and pay careful attention to!
