I use Goddard's Silver Dip, just put the connector in the solution for a few seconds. Tarn-X is basically the same thing.
Both are available at most supermarkets in the section where furniture polish, etc., are located.

Subject: [Boatanchors] connector cleaning
I have a number of SO 239 connectors on the ends of coax that have been exposed to the weather for a long time. They are tarnished, but not corroded. I want to remove them from the coax and clean them for reuse and am wonderingwhat others would suggest as cleaning methods or what to use to clean them.It would be a shame to toss them all out because they are tarnished and have been exposed to the elements forlong periods of time. I was thinking maybe silver polish???
