Using polish by hand would be a lot of work. I'd suggest Tarn-X as Carl has
said. Just did up a load of elbow and barrel connectors recently by soaking
them, then buffing with 4 aught steel wool as needed.
Be sure to rinse them thoroughly to remove and halt the Tarn-X.
Nick, I'm not sure how best to deal with your connectors on cables.
Dangling them in Tarn-X without completely submerging them might help, but
I'd be concerned that any small leak would cause the fluid to wick into the
coax. BNCs are a bit of a PITA to assemble, so I understand your desire to
clean the existing ones in place.
