The cause behind this is related to the number of FRC-93 stations that were
surplussed piecemeal over the years, resulting in far more transceivers
available than matching supplies. Some use the PM-1 that straps on the back
of the set, but this doesn't allow for full output.

No doubt the purist collector type or even the more casual user would
prefer and continue to look for a correct supply. But the Heath supplies
have long been snapped up for this reason, no maybe involved. Search Google
and you're likely to turn up a lot of info.
