[Boatanchors] Ridiculous Bid on the Bay

I worked on those FRC-93/FRC-153 stations for quite a few years.
Virtually all used in fixed operation used the standard AC supply.
The mobile combat group I was in had lots of the suitcase stations
with backpack power supply for quick deployment. I never had a
thing to do with disposal of any of them so can't say if the power
and transceive units got split up. At one time they were all paired
with possibly extra power supplies for backup.

Regarding use of the Heath supply for Collins, I
can't imagine that a "true" Collins fan would deign
to use that supply with a K-2 or S-line, but maybe!

The cause behind this is related to the number of FRC-93 stations that were surplussed piecemeal over the years, resulting in far more transceivers available than matching supplies. Some use the PM-1 that straps on the back of the set, but this doesn't allow for full output.

No doubt the purist collector type or even the more casual user would prefer and continue to look for a correct supply. But the Heath supplies have long been snapped up for this reason, no maybe involved. Search Google and you're likely to turn up a lot of info.
