In response to one question, there is no sign of threading in the captive
housing
(for the one missing screw).

I can imagine that the pointed end of the screw would drive through the
captive
housing which would then function rather like a lobster pot - this would
mean that
it would be difficult to remove the screw. Looking for something I can try
as a puller
to get more pull.
