RCA calls it a beam tube in 1944 but continues to show it as a grid and
refers to it as Grid 3.

Personally I dont give a damn and still call it a suppressor grid as was the
often substituted 837 in that same amp circuit. P&H offered their LA-400 amp
with your choice. If it functions as a grid.....then its not a plate.
