[Boatanchors] WRL Globe 680 Saga End

Today, joined a ragchew roundtable on 40M AM (7.160) using the Globe Scout.  Everyone pronounced the audio FB, I was pushing about 30 watts to an 88' doublet.  Two in the group had owned Scouts and missed them. 

I never owned one, don't recall knowing anyone who did, even as a Novice in the early 60s.  Bought  this used one because they evidently were quite popular in their day.  My last AM QSO was in 1979 with a Viking Ranger, boy did I screw up selling that rig for $50 in 1980, they seem to go for ten times that now.
