I am helping an elderly ham get her station back together, and she needs
the basic tuning info for her linear amplifier, a Heath SB-200. I used
to have one of these , some 40 years or so ago, but cannot remember the
process well enough to prepare a "quick start" guide for my friend. She
is KL7OT, Buddy Clay, who lives in Aniak, Alaska, and has just
celebrated her 98th birthday!! Aniak is in western Alaska, on the
Kuskokwim river, several hundred miles from where I am. I am in
Anchorage. Fortunately, there is a former telecomm technician there
that can help if I can get the correct instructions to them. He is not
a ham, but understands technical issues well enough if I can get him
started. Buddy is, as far as I know, the only ham in her town.
I have been helping her, and she needs detailed instructions for tuning
the amp. She uses only one band (75 meters) so this won't be a big
deal, but I need to know what the exact names of the various controls
are, and where they are on the panel, so I can build a step by step
"quick start" sheet for her. I have already done this for her basic
transceiver, a ICOM IC-737, and the process works fine.
I looked on the BAMA sire, but no Heath listings. I remember someone
mentioning that they were moved due to a copyright squabble, but that
was some months ago. I did find a down-loadable schematic, but that was
it, no operating instructions.
Any help out there?
Also posted to the Glowbugs list, my apologies if you get this twice.
