[Boatanchors] KC, kc, K etc.

Most, and probably all, of my WWII radio frequency military gear
use the abbreviation KC and MC on the gear itself, whereas
some of the associated Technical Manuals use kc, mc and
other TM's use KC, MC. KILOCYCLES appear on the
gear ID labels.Uppercase lettering seems to have been the rule.
Modern use of lower case k instead of the more consistent
upper case K (for multipliers greater than one) because of the
consignment K to degrees Kelvin, sounds plausible
but, is the K in degrees Kelvin ever immediately
followed by any single or combination of other letter(s) or other
cipher(s)?
Henry, Cph.
