[Boatanchors] PARTING OUT

Ray,

I'm very much like you.

I too posted the earlier mentioned radios for a sell.

Getting no buyer(s), I spoke about parting them out.

I then began downright "nasty-grams".

I just went through selling a Tx/Rx pair that had sat on the shelf for
about 9 years. They were manufactured in 1970.

The buyer sent multiple messages claiming that they were not as
described. I had told him that WHEN they were taken from the operating
position AND put on the shelf, they had no KNOWN issues.

What would anyone expect with THAT description and open discussed
history? Would anyone simply expect that they could simply plug them in
and go?

I know from my experience of equipment of that vintage, AND having sat
unused on the shelf, that this was going to be a work in progress.

I've sworn since then, that I will take any such items to our annual or
semi-annual hazardous waste Day(s). Now if it has lead containing
solder, it is hazardous waste.

I'm just plain NOT going to get grief for several weeks over such!

I do NOT need it! I have better things to do than respond to nonsense.
