[Boatanchors] Way to go me!

Ok, here's one I don't like to write. Seems I was careless with my linear
this evening, trying to tune it, and #1 bullhead didn't have the band switch
in the proper position. I know this should have me knocked back to Tech
class, but anotherr project I suppose.
After stupidly trying to tune on 75m with the amp set to 20m, I'm left with
an amp that seemed ok after cooling off, and the relay began to function
again. Now when I attempt to tune up (properly), I get quite the light show
from the finals. I'm only looking for general ideas to check, as I've never
seen another of these "Borton Model 1600" linears with the 6pc 35LR6 lineup.
I know sweepers are oh-so-popular, but hey, I'm on the air.
Could I have a resistor that got hot or something? Is a lot of blue light
and a growl a "common symptom?"
Thanks for any help!
Adam, N8YD
