John,
Did the A and B coils come with the receiver, are they actually HRO-60 coils or could they be HRO-50 coils designed for single conversion use on these ranges?
If they are the correct coils, listen to see if you can hear the HFO operating in another receiver and then take voltage readings on the RF and mixer tubes.
Make sure to remove the .1 cap to ground that may be present from one of the rectifier plates to ground. It probably has already been removed but if not do so to save your power transformer.

Subject: [Boatanchors] HRO-60 repairs

Need help on my HRO-60. Receiver works great with coils C,D,E,and F. Also works great on coil AC. But is dead as a post on coils A and B. One would assume the coil set is defective but not much in them. Caps check right value and coils are not open. Any suggestion as to how to proceed? John
