I've done something similar to what Mike suggests, but with waterslide  
decal paper.  I layed out the entire front panel using Word then printed it  on 
a laser printer; one big decal.  Worked great.  
 
I'd suggest getting the decal paper for laser printers and print on a laser 
 printer.  They have an inkjet version that is far more work.
