[Boatanchors] Replacing 866s with 3B28s thread drift to CFLs

Not all CFL's are created equal.

The ones sold locally - about half fail in less than a year at my QTH. Of course we turn them out when sleeping and when no one is in the room, perhaps this is why?

I volunteer at a national park. One of my jobs, when I'm not doing
computer network installation, is changing light bulbs. The park went
over to CFLs over 10 years ago. They run 10 hours/day, 365 days a
year. Average life under these conditions is about 5 years. We were
lucky to get 6 months out of incandescents.
