Robert,
McMaster is McMaster-Carr, a large industrial supply house. They are on
the web.
AFAIK, you can get Phenolic, Lucite, and glass-eppoxy rod in a variety of
sizes. There are likely many more plastics also.
Another source would likely be Small Parts.
