A couple of weeks ago, I emailed the list about my 2B not having RX on 40 meters.  One gentleman said it was a bad xtal.  Right!  I just got the Xtal in the mail from ICM and the thing is alive on 40 meters!  Yea!  

It had a little issue coming up....seems the 6BA6 IF amp was not working.  The tube was not glowing and was cold to the touch.  The S-Meter was pegged to the right.  So, I said I have a bad 6BA6 now.  But, I guess I wiggled it and it started glowing.  Low and behold, the Drake 2B started going like gang busters.  Now I am listen to CW on 40 meters.  Sounds great too.  I guess I have to get some tubes for spares.  Or, blow some air or contact cleaner down the tube sockets.  Or just plug and unplug all the tubes to get the crud off the pins.

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply.  If you don't have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it.  If you can't find any Common Sense, ask for help from somebody who has some Common Sense.  Is Common Sense divine?
