I do NOT own ANYTHING but this computer that needs programming.

I CANNOT help that I'm only 58. There is only so much you can control!

A number of folks had the time and a wealth of parts to homebrew their
radios. Sorry, but 20 yrs in the military traveling anywhere from three
to nine months a year around the world, just DIDN'T allow for such
amenities. That was followed by another 15 years as a government
contractor, traveling as usual, installing and repairing Government
Equipment around the world.

I started with a Heathkit SB-102, SP-600, and an HP-23A. I built a
homebrew pair of GG 813s.

Now I've got a DX-60 w/HG-10. The receivers are SP-600, (Northern
Radio), and a Collins R-390A.

I used to repair the old analog computers that had phenolic circuit
boards loaded with transistors such as the 2N110s. Yep, we first
swapped out the boards, re-calibrated the stupid thing, then when we got
back it was to work on the bench replacing the bad components.

I find a large number of us that prefer to operate our Old Boat
Anchors. The ones that don't are mostly contest types. I do NOT find
THAT to be communicating!
