[Boatanchors] Replacing Components

I power up my trusty PACE Desoldering iron and remove the solder from
the lug. I then remove the leads for the component to replace from
the lug. If this lead is overwrapped by another, I remove that too. I
replace all the leads removed. Install the new component and resolder
the connection. When done it looks like it was done at the factory.

I work at a TV station replacing components almost every day. Usually
the only way that you know that I have worked on the item is my notes
as to what was done and the area is cleaner than when it left the
factory. I use denatured alcohol to clean an flux left from the
soldering operation. BTW the equipment that I use belongs to me and
not the station.
