[Boatanchors] OT: Call sign assignments?

According to http://www.ae7q.com/show/GenLicAvail.php?REGION=2 the last
Extra sequential callsign issued was AB2WJ. You will get a callsign
close to that. My advice would be to keep your current call and apply
for a vanity after your Extra license gets issued. The WEB site I
listed shows what calls are currently available in the 2 region. Your
chances of getting a 1x2 are pretty small, but it doesn't hurt to try.
