[Boatanchors] LED's instead of lamps in boatanchors???

Hi Bob,

The rig was using a DC supply for the lighting. For an A/C supply you
would want to use a series diode with a series resistor to set the
voltage seen by the LED to the value that is safe and the value that
looks right to your eye's for brightness. Start out with a large
resistance and find the value that is correct on the bench before going
at the radio. You will find it right away maybe 15 minutes of
experimenting? I run the LED's a little dimmer than factory spec so they
look more natural. The bonus of using them is they give off zero heat
which is much better for any plastic lensed meter.

I will be substituting LED's in everything here as the old bulbs go out.
I figure as I get older I will not want to be digging around in my rigs
as I can do now. The vision & hands won't last forever...hi hi...

Have fun,
Mike
