If you're gonna run the 706 at 100W output you need 15-20 amps of current
when you transmit! You'd be best to keep the vehicle engine running and run
some heavy wires from the battery to the rig.
Alternatively, an inverter (I'd go for 500-1000W) will work, but if you
tansmit a lot it'll drain yuour battery and you're back to running the
engine to recharge.
Those small 1KW Honda generators are very portable and quiet to operate. Not
cheap...but if you don't mind spending some money, those are really
nice...and also provide your home with some limited emergency backup power.
