That is interesting Carl. Would you be kind enough to tell us how you
made yourself more accessible? I have a problem similar to Jack's but
the difference is they can drive right up to my door. They have refused
to pick up here even with the fee added and in a couple of instances the
left boxes on the porch that were very light, which disappeared with the
wind.
Not only that if they have no deliveries coming down my road they mail a
card saying come pick it up 35 miles away. When called they say they
can't find my address despite having been here before. Having it
delivered elsewhere is asking a lot of your local store, doctor's
office, etc. if it is something bulky. UPS do not call on cell phones
here to get directions. I have been assured they have the directions in
their computer but that didn't work either.
My alternative was DHL that pick up for free, find every location and
match anyone's delivery time. I, too, am retired in a rural area and
here most of the time except when I go to the grocery store.
