Mac and other list members:
I have had dealings with Walt and have found him to be a man of honor and
integrity and I think that it is a bunch of crap that anyone would say what
they did about him.
I wonder if we have a new self-appointed list administrator?
Also, I have seen many, many references to Radio Shack on this list and no
one has said a word about it, so what is the difference between Radio Shack
and Ebay?
Or, what about the messages from Yahoo on the bottom of some e-mails?
They are both commercial enterprises and both sell ham related parts and
equipment.
So fellows, lighten up and let's get back to boatanchors and Ham Radio!
Just my two cents worth. . .
Gene

(k5pgw at yahoo.com) sent regarding my giving first shot
to the BBS gang before they head to eBay. Personally,
it don't make f**k-s**t (pardon my sailor talk -
retired
CPO and then retired merchant marine so if it comes
into my head, it goes out my mouth) to me. These items
came from a local estate that I'm helping with. Guess
I'll keep my nose in a cheap beer down at the VFW in
the future instead of poking it into where its not
wanted. Unless someone speaks up PDQ, they'll probably
be on eBay this weekend - where they obviously belong.

Walt, you might as well take them to ebay if you
expect ebay prices. I am sure that the reflector
administrator will not be happy with the mention of
ebay.
Sounds like saying if someone doesn't buy these at
ebay prices here on the reflector, I am going to take
these "treasures" to ebay and you won't get them.
I wonder if the members of the reflector will respond
to extortion.
I was at the Rayne, Louisiana hamfest a couple of
weeks ago and a fellow I know purchased a complete Ten
Tec 544 (Triton IV) station with power supply for
$65.00. I asked him what he would take for them since
he had them on his table for sale. He responded "I can
get $200.00 for them on ebay". I said NOTHING and
walked away because as far as I was concerned he could
go to ebay. I would have given him 100% profit five
minutes after he purchased them, but he wanted to make
175% profit. They were his and he could do with him
what he wanted. This points out that ebay has really
hurt hamfests and Hams who are not "money changers".
Good luck in the Commercial World!! 73, John, K5PGW
