Dave,
The best stuff I have found is called AWESOME at the 99 cent stores.
Spray it on let it sit for a few minutes and hose it off.
Blow dry with compressed air and let it dry in the sun.
It does not remove tube ID and other markings.
"BEWARE" of dial markings some of them go away by just looking at then 
cross eyed. It makes nicotine run off like a river of brown water.

It dissolves grease on your hands like it was never there.
99 cents a quart.
IT IS TRULY AWESOME.
